Why the X?

The users of X-ray demanded a new generation of X-ray analyzer. First and foremost they want exceptional ergonomics. This meant minimal weight, a small, well-balanced analyzer, exceptional speed to minimize test time and maximize productivity. And a large, vibrant, easily viewed display. Finally, App-driven intuitive operation like the latest Smartphones.

The X was developed from SciAps' decades of XRF design and manufacturing experience. Weighing barely 2 kg, it's lightning fast, and can be used all day long without fatigue. For example, 90% of all alloys can be identified in 1 second with excellent precision. With the exception of aluminum alloys, no test requires more than 3 seconds. The X features the latest 5″ Smartphone display for easy viewing in all lighting conditions.


The X is Android-based and thus frees you from the nuisance of proprietary operating systems so common in other analyzers. It features an onboard camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. The X, like the Z, was built for cloud-based computing. X Features

The X analyzes all types of alloys. It’s setup for 31 common elements listed below, but like the Z, users can add new elements at any time via our standard less fundamental parameters software or via empirical calibrations if preferred.

Aluminum alloys?

The X is the fastest XRF available for dual beam Al alloy measurements. While not nearly as fast or accurate as our Z laser-based analyzer, it’s still the best X-ray

Tired of dead detectors?

The X features the industry’s only dual shield detector technology. A unique impenetrable high-speed steel shutter only opens during testing, combined with a carbon fiber protection grid mounted on the SDD.
