Rigaku Recognized as a Top Corporate Institution by the Nature Index

The Nature Index ranks Rigaku at No. 2 in its list of Top Corporate Institutions by Normalized WFC
May 7, 2018 – Tokyo, Japan. Rigaku Corporation is pleased to announce its recognition by The Nature Index as a Top Corporate Institution. The Nature Index is a database of information by author affiliation, collated from research articles published in an independently selected group of 68 renowned science journals. The database is compiled by the publishers of Nature, a leading weekly, international scientific journal. The Nature Index provides a close to real-time proxy for high-quality research output at the institutional, national and regional level.
Nature Index 2018 Japan highlights Japan’s most efficient institutions in the production of high quality scientific research. The index shows Rigaku among Japan’s leading institutions ranked by normalized weighted fractional count (WFC), an indicator of an institution’s high-quality research output as a proportion of total output in the natural sciences from 2012 to 2017. It is derived by dividing an institution’s WFC in the Nature Index by its total number of natural sciences articles in Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Rigaku provides the world’s most complete line of X-ray analytical instruments. The Rigaku Group of Companies are world leaders in the fields of X-ray diffraction (XRD), thin film analysis, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF), small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), protein and small molecule X-ray crystallography (SMC), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray optics, semiconductor metrology, X-ray sources, computed tomography (CT), nondestructive testing (NDT) and thermal analysis (TA).
